Laganja Estranja (Jay Jackson), a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, is an international female illusionist, musician, choreographer, cannabis rights activist, and model/brand ambassador based in Los Angeles, CA. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance and choreography from the California Institute of the Arts, Laganja appeared as a contestant on LogoTV's Season Six of RuPaul's Drag Race (2014). Since then, Laganja has packed countless venues across the United States as well as headlining in Brazil, Peru, Chile, Columbia, Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Asia, Ireland, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, and Germany. Her other television credits include American Music Awards (Christina Aguilera/2012), MTV's Video Music Awards (Miley Cyrus/2015), Skin Wars (2015), RuPaul's Green Screen Christmas (2015), America's Got Talent (2016), Bong Appetite (2017), Germany's Next Top Model (2018), and So You Think You Can Dance (2018). Laganja has also appeared online with popular Youtubers including, but not limited to, Jeffree Star, Todrick Hall, Elijah Daniel, Christine Sydelko, Angel Haze, and Caitlin Doughty, earning collectively over 30 million views. Laganja's music career began in 2014 with her hit single “Legs” featuring internationally know rapper, Rye Rye. Her current EP “Exhibit A” produced by Papa Spock/BSE and is available on iTunes, Spotify, TuneCore and Amazon Music. Laganja's choreography credits include Germany's Next Top Model, NYC Cosmetics FACE Awards, and for commercial artists such as Miley Cyrus and Brooke Candy. In 2016, “Laganja's Dance School” was founded, an international high-heels masterclass and confidence workshop which has been held in dozens of cities across Europe, Central America, South America, and the United States. The Laganja Estranja lifestyle brand includes a collaboration preroll joint with San Francisco's The Hepburns, called "LAhepburns." Laganja has also been featured in High Times Magazine as well as Dope Magazine, making her the first LGBTQ+ entertainer to appear on the cover of a cannabis magazine. Other lifestyle collaborations include her jewelry line "Laganja Estranja is My Enemy" by CHRISHABANA and with companies such as Littered Nation and Blunted Objects. As a model, Laganja has walked the runways of the Melange Brazil Fashion Show in Rio de Janeiro as well as Marco Marco in Los Angeles and New York. She also appeared in Gareth Pugh's fashion film "PITTI.” As a brand ambassador, Laganja has worked with respected companies such as Sally Hansen and Pleaser Shoes.
